Winthrop University has student exchange agreements with eight foreign universities. With exchange programs, Winthrop students pay their regular tuition to Winthrop and study at one of our partner universities abroad. After their semester or year overseas, students who participate in these exchange programs receive transfer credit upon successful completion of their program.

Students can pay WU tuition and study away for a semester or academic year at over 180 institutions in the contintental United States, U.S. territories (Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam), and Canada.
Students can participate in short-term faculty-led study abroad programs by taking the connected class or classes. Current FLP applications are available in Winthrop's Study Abroad Portal. Students wishing to petition Winthrop to participate in a currently unapproved program must submit full program information and documentation six months prior to the Winthrop application deadline. E-mail studyabroad@winthrop.edu for instructions and further details.
