Faculty and Staff Resources

The International Center is here to support you as Winthrop Faculty and Staff members. Reach out to us for assistance regarding Faculty-Led Programs, Employment Immigration, and Travel Information as well as Fulbright and other opportunities.

Employment and Immigration

Winthrop University is committed to attracting and retaining high quality and diverse faculty, staff, and administrators. Toward that end, the University strives to support a community of faculty, staff, and administrators who are also globally engaged and globally minded. In support of the University's commitment to diversity and global learning, the following information will assist in the hiring and retention of diverse faculty, staff, and administrators who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents.

Faculty-Led Study Abroad

Each year, a number of Winthrop faculty members combine coursework with on-site international experiences by leading a short-term faculty-led study abroad program.  Faculty members interested in leading short-term study abroad programs for Winthrop students should plan to meet with the International Center for additional information including assistance with the development, planning, and execution of the program.

Fulbright & Other Opportunities

Opportunities for faculty to get overseas can be found both here and by checking with the Office of Nationally Competitive Awards (ONCA). Fulbright publications can be found at both ONCA and at the International Center.

This section provides tips and considerations for anyone planning a trip abroad for research, teaching, or scholarship.
