Students must meet university eligibility requirements before accepting a membership invitation (bid) or beginning a membership intake process. Chapters may not extend formal membership invitations to students who do not meet these requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Please note that individual chapters may have academic requirements higher than the university minimum. Students should ask about chapter-specific expectations during the recruitment or intake process.
*Transfer students in their first semester at Winthrop must submit a transcript to the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life (DiGS 269) for verification of GPA and credits from their most previous institution. Please email a PDF copy of the transcript to the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life (ofsa@winthrop.edu).
The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life, within the Department of Student Engagement, supports Winthrop's University's three governing councils: College Panhellenic Council, Interfraternity Council, and National Pan-Hellenic Council as well as individual chapters.
