The College Panhellenic Council is home to Winthrop's Panhellenic sororities under the National Panhellenic Conference. These organizations emphasize leadership, academic achievement, philanthropy, personal development, and lifelong sisterhood.
Students interested in joining participate in Primary Recruitment, a structured process that allows potential new members to meet each chapter, learn about their values, and determine which community feels like the best fit.
Primary Recruitment is open to eligible undergraduate women enrolled at Winthrop University.
The Interfraternity Council is home to Winthrop's men's fraternities. These organizations provide opportunities for leadership development, community service, philanthropy, academic success, and lifelong brotherhood.

The National Pan-Hellenic Council is home to the historically Black fraternities and sororities known collectively as the Divine Nine. Founded on the principles of scholarship, leadership, service, and cultural excellence, these organizations have developed leaders and served communities for more than a century.
Membership in NPHC organizations is obtained through a membership intake process, which differs from recruitment and occurs at various times throughout the academic year.
Membership eligibility is determined by each individual organization and includes academic, enrollment, and organizational requirements.

Membership dues vary by organization and typically support chapter operations, leadership development, national organization fees, programming, and social activities. Financial expectations are discussed during each organization's recruitment or intake process.
