The Master of Education degree (M.Ed.) in Counseling and Development provides dynamic curricula for students interested in meeting the educational requirements for licensure as Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) or licensure or certification as a School Counselor. Students choose a concentration in clinical mental health counseling (CMHC) or school counseling (SC); both concentrations are fully accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
The program is offered in a cohort format typically completed in two years. The structured program includes classroom, laboratory, and field-based education and training. The coursework includes a designated program of study for each concentration consisting of:
