International Business

Degree Information

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an International Business option requires 124 credit hours for completion including general education requirements, the business core courses, and the International Business option courses (listed below).
(18 semester hours in addition to required general education and business core curriculum).

Required courses to complete this option:

ECON 521 - International Trade and Investment
FINC 514 - International Financial Management
MGMT 529 - International Management
MKTG 581 - Marketing for Global Competitiveness
One of:
BADM 492 - Internship in International Business
BADM 400 - International Field Experience

Choose one course from ANTH 301, 321, 323, 325, 351; FREN 301; GEOG 303, 304, 306; GERM 300, 301; HIST 345, 351, 547, 548, 551, 552, 553, 561; MCOM 302; PLSC 335, 336, 338, 345, 532; RELG 300; SPAN 301, 302

International Business students whose native language is English must complete at least two semesters of a modern foreign language (excluding Latin). Winthrop offers courses in French, German, Spanish, Chinese, and Italian. AP or IB language credits can be used to meet the foreign language requirement. If you have studied French, German, or Spanish in High School, you may be able to meet the foreign language requirement by passing a College Level Examination Program (CLEP) examination through the Winthrop Counseling Center.
