Originally from Upstate New York, Mikayla moved to North Carolina to attend Queens University of Charlotte, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Shortly after, she attended Winthrop University and received her Masters of Education in Counseling and Development.

While pursuing her degree at Winthrop, Mikayla was a TRiO academic counselor for two years. Once she graduated, she accepted a position as the Academic Success Center's, Academic Coach. She now serves as Director of the Academic Success Center.

In addition to her work at Winthrop, Mikayla coaches Northwestern Varsity Cheerleading. In her free time, she enjoys traveling the world, reading, and spending time with her fiancé and six animals.

Whitney Jennings

Originally from Arkansas, Whitney attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Human and Organizational Development.  She went on to earn a Master's in Counseling from Walden University.  With five years of experience as a therapist, Whitney brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role of Academic Coach.  She is passionate about helping students overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.

In her free time, Whitney enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her husband and beloved dog, Princess.

Brandon Proper

Originally from Upstate New York, Brandon moved to South Carolina, where he finished high school and moved to Rock Hill to attend Winthrop University. Brandon received his Bachelor's degree in Arts with a minor in Community-Based Learning. Not too long after finishing undergrad, he is now back studying at Winthrop to obtain his masters in School Counseling.

While obtaining his master's degree, Brandon is working as a Graduate Associate for the Academic Success Center. He is passionate about bringing a creative spin to the ASC and hopes to be a good role model and reliable figure to students who need advice and someone to confide in.

In his free time, Brandon enjoys spending his time with his girlfriend, trying new foods and activities together in addition to hanging out with friends and working out.
