The Department of English offers a thriving, dynamic program with areas of focus in literary studies, secondary English education, technical and professional writing, and creative writing. The department hosts the university Writing Center and offers minors in creative and technical writing, secondary education certification, graduate certificates, and a new Micro-Certificate in Technical Writing. The department boasts a 100% job placement rate for our English education graduates and high acceptance rates to graduate and law schools.
Thanks to our donors, we can offer incredible learning opportunities for our students such as our American Shakespeare Center Trip, study abroad experiences, Writers Series events, travel to the National Council of Teachers of English Conference, and our annual Undergraduate & Graduate Research Conference.
