About Civic Engagement
Get Involved. Make a Difference. Volunteer.
Do you have an interest in community service? Civic engagement? Connecting with the
local community? There are several opportunities for students to engage in the Rock
Hill and surrounding communitites during their time at Winthrop University. Here are
just a few ways:
- Search opportunities to serve at local agencies on Eagle Impact. This is our campus-wide volunteer management software. You can find volunteer opportunities
and it's a great way to track your volunteer hours.
- SOAR is one of the student organizations with a focus on volunteerism. There are other
student organizations with a focus on service. You can find the complete list of all
student organizations by visiting Eagle Engage.
- Throughout the academic year, there will be service events on and off campus. Many
of these events will be hosted by groups like the Council of Student Leaders or one of our 15 fraternal organizations.
- Join us for our Annual MLK Service Week! Winthrop University will offer a week of
service activities to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
- Be sure to check out local agencies at the annual Involvement Fair. The date for the
Fall Involvement Fair is September 5th, 2024.
