Winthrop University assesses an administrative fee of $25 upon enrollment in a payment plan for the Fall & Spring semesters to offset the addtitional cost of record keeping and billing.
Course fees are for courses in which specialized supplies or assessments are used.
Lab fees are for courses in which specialized equipment and consumable supplies are used.
Course & Lab fees are charged per semester, vary by course, are not refundable after the first week of class.

Undergraduate students are charged $22/credit hour per term to access digital material and physical books for each of their courses. Opt-out requests must be received prior to the course Add/Drop date.
Charged per semester, the Environmental Safety Fee is a mandatory fee for all students. Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) serves the university community by providing comprehensive environmental health and safety programs and services that protect the environment, provide safe and healthy conditions for work and study, and comply with applicable laws and regulations. In addition, EHS conducts routine compliance audits, provides building fire and life safety inspections, coordinates the testing and inspection of fire safety equipment; provides technical support, consultation and training to ensure regulatory compliance; and administers the workers' compensation program.

Charged one day after the payment deadline to students who have not settled their tuition and fees by the published Fee Payment Deadline. Students can avoid this fee by ensuring that their Financial Aid is complete and any remaining out-of-pocket fees are paid in full. Students who are unable to pay in full should utilize the Winthrop payment plan and make their first payment by the payment deadline to avoid incurring this fee.
Charged per semester, this mandatory fee is assessed to all sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate, and online students. The Library offers an abundance of online resources in addition to campus-based resources.
A student may incur other miscellaneous charges throughout the term. Common charges may include orientation fees, library fines, lab printing charges, payment plan late fees, traffic fines, health services, and others.
Fee charged to First Time Freshman and Transfers without exception. Funds programs and expenses related to Orientation, the Common Book, and Welcome Week.
Charged per semester, the Post Office fee is a mandatory fee for all students living on campus.

Charged per semester, the Student Wellness Fee is assessed to students enrolled in 6 or more credit hours. The fee is not insurance, but allows the student to use the services offered by Center for Student Wellness and other support and testing services.
This mandatory fee supports the advancement and maintenance of information technology that makes an impact to Winthrop students. Examples include funding for internet access, campus & classroom technology, institutional software, and call center support.
