Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (AAPI)

This month, we celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) heritage and pay tribute to generations who have made the United States a stronger and better place.



June 2023

Pride Month

Pride Month celebrates the many contributions made by the LGBTQ+ community to history, society, and culture. In most places, Pride is celebrated during June to commemorate the Stonewall Riots of 1969.




Juneteenth, or Freedom Day is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. This holiday is considered the longest running African-American holiday and has been called America's second Independence Day. It was on June 19, 1865 that Union soldiers, led by Maj. Gen.



July 2023

Disability Pride Month

During July, the United States celebrates Disability Pride Month. During this month, Americans remember the 1990 enactment of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which expanded civil rights protections for people with disabilities and ensured that every American can benefit from their talent.



South Asian Heritage Month

From July 18th through August 17th, South Asian Heritage Month is celebrated in honor, recognition, and appreciation of South Asian cultures, as well as to understand the rich cultural heritage of countries in the region.
