Welcome to the Eagle Family!

If you have been accepted into the Dual Enrollment Program and have attended Eagle Prep Night, you can begin your Dual Enrollment Orientation checklist.

First Steps

    • Complete "Campus Safety" two part training

    • Pay Bill

    • Order a parking pass

    • Sign-up for WU Alerts
    • Login to http://patient-winthrop.medicatconnect.com/

    • You will need to register for an account using your Winthrop ID number.  Once you have registered for an account, please upload and complete all health requirements within the WU Patient Portal

    • If you have questions, please directly contact Ms. Nikki Ford, Director of Center for Student Wellness at fordn@winthrop.edu.

 

Get Prepared for College

    • Always be mindful of important dates such as holidays, exams, and Spring Break.  Most school districts follow a different academic calendat than the University of South Carolina.

    • You follow Winthrop University calendar for semester start date, semester end date, and final exam period.

    These are free centers, staffed with expert students to help you in your courses.

    • Complete the Risk and Liability Waiver.
    • Remember to bring your Winthrop ID with you to swipe at the front door

 

How to Register:

Dual Enrollment course registration at Winthrop is completely web-based.  To register, first complete the course interest survey.  Once you receive confirmation from the Dual Enrollment Office that the courses in which you are interested are approved, follow the steps below to register. ALL ENROLLMENTS are checked after the registration perios - dual enrollments students in courses for which they were not approved will be dropped from the non-approved course(s).

For returning dual enrollment students: you must resubmit the Permission Form for Returning Student and the course interest survey to the Dual Enrollment Office each semester to have the hold lifted from your reistration account.

    1. Go to the Wingspan homepage.
    2. Enter your username and password (same as Winthrop e-mail account) and "Login".
    1. Once logged in to the Wingspan portal, click on the "Student" tab at the top.
    2. Click on the "Registration" link and select Add or Drop Classes.
    3. Select the appropriate terms and click "Submit".
    4. Type the 5-digit CRN of the class in which you wish to enroll (see course listing).
    5. Click on "Submit Changes".
    1. Click on "Return to Main Menu" in the upper left part of the page.

 

Want to join us for another semester?

We are thrilled that you want to re-enroll for another semester!  Here's how to take Dual Enrollment courses, again:

    • Meet with your high school counselor (if applicable) to talk about course possibilities/appropriate courses.
    • When considering courses visit the course descriptions page for a course description, redit hours, required prerequisites/course work, and lab fees.

    When you know the courses you would like to take, complete the course interest survey.

    • The Dual Enrollment Office will review, and send you registration approval within 2 business days.
    • Please note the Office of Records calendar information on class start/end dates and university holidays as they may differ from the public school calendar.

    Complete and e-mail the Dual Enrollment Permission Form to dualenrollment@winthrop.edu.

    Once you have approval, register for courses.

    Order textbooks and required materials.

    Complete Dual Enrollment Program survey
