Dual Enrollment Application Instructions and Checklist

 

Who Should Apply?

  • High School students in 11th or 12th grade with a GPA of a 3.0+ on 4.0 SC UGP scale.
  • Highly motivated students interested in being challenged by college-level academics.

How to Apply?

Application Tips

  • Select “First-time user” if this is your first time applying via this portal OR select “Returning user” if you have previously applied or have submitted a WU undergraduate application and would like to take dual enrollment at Winthrop in your senior year.
  • First-time users will create an account and will receive an e-mail with a temporary PIN to authenticate your application. If you do not receive a Pin, check your junk or spam folder.
  • You must create a password to login to your application portal. It must contain at least one letter, one number and twelve characters. Make sure to write down this password.
  • Provide the requested information and proofread your application.
  • Verify-Sign and select “submit your application”.
  • Congrats on submitting your application, here are the next steps!

Application Criteria

  • Be a current high school junior (grade 11) or senior (grade 12)
  • Meet the High School GPA requirement: 3.0 on 4.0 SC UGP scale

Information Required to Apply

  • Applicant e-mail address—do not use your high school e-mail address. All communications will be sent to this e-mail address.
  • Parent/legal guardian e-mail address—must be different from student e-mail
  • School counselor e-mail address. Be sure you are using your school counselor’s name and contact information.
  • Copy of your high school transcript

Deadlines to Apply

Summer 2026: Application opens January 6; apply by May 1

Fall 2026: Application opens January 6; apply by May 1

Spring 2027: Application opens mid-September; apply by November 1

After Submitting Your Application

  • Login to your application portal to complete your application by:
    • Upload High School Transcript
    • Complete SC residency form
  • Check that your parent/ guardian receives and completes the Parent/Guardian approval via their e-mail.
  • Review course offerings for chosen semester
  • If your high school is a Dual Credit partner, talk with your high school counselor about which Winthrop course(s) will also fulfill remaining high school graduation requirements
  • Complete and submit the Course Interest Form
  • Check portal status for updates and admission decision
  • Once admitted, you will receive a ‘Welcome to Winthrop Dual Enrollment’ email from the Dual Enrollment Team giving you access to complete our mandatory online Dual Enrollment Orientation. After successfully passing the orientation modules in the online training, we will invite you to campus for a ‘Soar & Explore’ or ‘Eagle Prep Night’ event to ensure you are ready for your first day of dual enrollment coursework at Winthrop.
