Student Engagement

Being engaged in your campus experience is a huge part of life at Winthrop University. The Division of Student Affairs provides various opportunities for students to enhance their Winthrop experience from the time you first arrive on campus at orientation to engagement on campus through clubs and organizations, recreation, or leadership. Spread your wings with additional opportunities to grow your skills, enhance your understanding, and learn to be inclusive of all. We also want to help keep you safe with the various policies and procedures that guide our Winthrop Eagles. Be sure to check out all of the opportunities to expand your Winthrop experience and succeed.

Mission Statement

The Office of Student Engagement & Diversity provides facilities, programs, and services that create meaningful out-of-class learning opportunities for the Winthrop community to naturally connect with one another and gain knowledge and skills to succeed and be socially responsible.

Our staff works with student organizations to provide support and guidance for on-campus events and activities.  Student organizations are encouraged to apply for funding through the Council of Student Leaders, Student Allocations Committee to assist with speakers, events, and conferences open to Winthrop students. Events and activities supported in part by SAC funds need not and should not avoid controversial, political, religious and/or ideological content. All SAC/OSA decisions are made from a neutral view-point.

For more information on upcoming events and student organizations, please check out Eagle Engage! or contact us at 803/323-2248.
