Teaching Fellows Program

Message from the Director

Welcome to the Winthrop University Teaching Fellows Program page! The mission of the South Carolina Teaching Fellows Program is to recruit talented high school seniors into the teaching profession and help them develop leadership qualities. The Richard W. Riley College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences is the flagship teacher education program in South Carolina and the region, and the Winthrop Teaching Fellows Program has been one of the largest and most sought after by students.

Our program provides opportunities for Teaching Fellows to work closely with partnership schools and in the community at-large. They gain extensive classroom experience and reinforce the importance of service in your community. The program also provides professional development workshops and seminars where Teaching Fellows continue perfecting their teaching craft. We strive to offer an enriching experiences so that our Teaching Fellows can then do the same for their future students.

Please take a few moments to visit our page and see some of the great things going on here at Winthrop!
