We are celebrating 50 years of Greek Life at Winthrop!
On Jan. 23, 1976, Winthrop's Board of Trustees passed a proposal that would eventually establish Greek Life on campus. That fall, students granted charters to a local organization (Alpha Mu Omega) and two national organizations (Delta Zeta and Zeta Phi Beta). Since 1976, Greek Life has been a vital part of the Winthrop experience for students. With nearly 6,000 Greek alumni and over 200 current students in Greek life, Winthrop is certainly rich in this tradition.
The on-campus celebration will be April 17-18. We look forward to welcoming alumni home to celebrate with our current Greek students!
