What makes Winthrop special to you?
What makes Winthrop special to me is the community. I made my lifelong best friends here and was mentored by professors who I still keep in contact with today. The small class sizes allowed me to connect on a deeper level with both my peers and professors, leading to growth both personally and professionally during my time here, as well as professional opportunities I wouldn’t have had anywhere else.

What do you love about Winthrop?
What I love most about Winthrop is its rich history. Everywhere you look on campus, you can find traces of the students who came before—reminders of the generations that walked these same halls over the past 140 years. Becoming part of that legacy and contributing to it in your own way is what truly makes being a Winthrop Eagle so special.

What is your favorite local restaurant in Rock Hill?
My favorite restaurant in Rock Hill has to be Sub Station II. The service is fast, friendly, and you get a great sandwich (plus the Winthrop discount is also nice!)

What is your favorite event to attend Rock Hill or local area?
My favorite events to attend are any Winthrop athletics events. It’s always a blast getting to cheer on the Eagles whether it’s a regular season Big South matchup, hosting the SEC, or a March Madness showdown, I always love seeing the Eagles put the W in WU. Rock The Hill!

What advice do you have for students during their search process?
The biggest piece of advice that I can give is to tour campus. It allows you to really feel the vibe and get a glimpse into student life. Prioritize getting on campus while students are here too, it’s always great to see campus alive and buzzing with activity.

Fun Facts: I taught middle school English for two years, I have a cat named Padme and a dog named Bear, and I’m a Winthrop alum!
