What makes Winthrop Special to you?
Winthrop University is special because it offers so many opportunities to get involved
on campus and find your community. Our small size makes navigation easy and encourages
you to step outside your comfort zone to try new things.
What do you love about Winthrop?
The people here lift you up like nowhere else. Professors, faculty, staff, and peers inspire and challenge one another to grow and reach their full potential. During my time as a student at Winthrop, I felt encouraged to try new things I had never thought about doing before. Winthrop is more than a community, Winthrop is a family that truly wants the best for one another.
What is your favorite local restaurant in Rock Hill?
One of my favorite places is Las Americas, especially on Taco Tuesday. I love NC Noodle Bar's pad thai, and you can't go wrong with any of our coffee shops like Knowledge Perk, Rock Hill Coffee, or Borboleta!
What is your favorite event to attend in Rock Hill or the local area?
Rock Hill has a lot of great events! I'm a big fan of Christmasville and anything hosted during the Come See Me Festival. Food Truck Friday is also a great time, and I love checking out the local craft markets.
What advice do you have for students during their search process?
Picture yourself on the campuses you look at. Imagine yourself in the pictures. Does it make you excited?
