Resolution Regarding the Establishment of New Academic Programs

WHEREAS pursuant to S.C. Code Ann. §59–125–1, et. seq., the Board of Trustees of Winthrop University was created and established as a body corporate for the purpose of effectuating the educational mission of Winthrop University.

WHEREAS pursuant to Winthrop Board of Trustees Bylaws art. IV(C), the Board of Trustees is empowered to define the scope of the University’s academic mission including the establishment of new academic programs to further such mission.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Winthrop University Board of Trustees, upon the recommendation of President Edward A. Serna hereby establishes the following academic concentrations:

             Master of Business Administration, new concentrations in Healthcare Management and in Financial Planning

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Acting Secretary to the Board of Trustees shall certify that the Winthrop University Board of Trustees approved this resolution on the 1st day of May, 2025, in a regularly scheduled meeting. Such resolution shall be maintained and publicly posted by the Acting Secretary of the Board in a time and manner as required by law.
