ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA — The world’s best disc golfers and thousands of fans will descend on Rock Hill Oct. 9-12 for the 27th United States Disc Golf Championship (USDGC) and Championship Week Festival.
Hosted at the iconic Winthrop Arena Course, the USDGC blends four days of world-class competition with a vibrant community celebration featuring live music, art, food and family activities. From thrilling championship play to nightly concerts and a vibrant vendor village, it’s an experience unlike any other in sports.
The tournament and festival take place around the Winthrop Coliseum and Winthrop Lake area.
Athletics Director Chuck Rey said the growth of the tournament over the years has put York County, Rock Hill and Winthrop on the national stage, making it a global destination for disc golf enthusiasts.
Andy Clinton, president and CEO of Visit York County, asked: “Where else can you watch the world’s top disc golfers compete and then stick around for live music, food and family fun—all in one place?”
Jonathan Poole, USDGC event director, said the USDGC is more than a championship. “It’s a tradition that brings people together. Fans, families and players all help create the atmosphere that makes this event so special,” he added.
