ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA – Winthrop University has taken several steps over the past decade to make its campus even more welcoming to veterans.

The campus continues to appreciate and serve the brave men and women who have volunteered to put themselves in harm’s way for our country.

Third party groups, such as U.S. News & World Report's 2022 edition of ‘‘Best Colleges,” have recognized Winthrop’s commitment to veterans. The university is ranked fifth among Regional Universities in the South among best colleges for veterans.

Among the campus resources for the university’s student-veterans are:

·  A Student Veteran Lounge, which is located on the garden level of Bancroft Hall

·  An established Student Veterans of Winthrop University organization

·  Special parking for veterans who have earned the Purple Heart

·  Review of Joint Services Transcripts and Community College of the Air Force Transcripts
