ROCK HILL, SOUTH CAROLINA — What is our legacy when we pass on? "Proof" explores the struggles of Catherine, the daughter of a brilliant but mentally disturbed
mathematician. Preparing for his funeral, Catherine tries to come to grips with her
possible inheritance — his insanity or his genius. "Proof" is a story of human relationships
and how the uncertainty of love can be just as challenging as the uncertainty of mathematical
proof.
Written by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning author David Auburn, this student-directed
and -designed studio theatre production from Winthrop University's Department of Theatre and Dance opens Wednesday, March 29 and runs through Sunday, April 2 in Johnson Studio Theatre. Show times are 8 p.m. March 29-April 1 and 2 p.m. on April 2. Tickets are $5 with
a Winthrop ID and $10 for the general public for the Wednesday and Thursday shows.

Directed by Madia Medico (Summerville, South Carolina), the play stars Daz'chanel Johnson (Goose Creek, South Carolina) as Catherine, Kaitlyn Dillard (Lexington, South Carolina) as Claire, Timothy McFall (North Augusta, South Carolina) as Hal and Cameron Drayton (Andrews, South Carolina) as Robert.
