Charlotte Regional Business Alliance Selects President Mahony for Higher Education Panel

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA – The Charlotte Regional Business Alliance has invited Winthrop University President Dan Mahony to speak at its annual event, The Summit, on Oct. 30. 

Mahony will serve as a panelist for the session “Higher Education: Growing a Regional Education Mecca.” Fellow panelists include Gardner-Webb University President William Downs; Central Piedmont Community College President Kandi Deitemeyer; Johnson C. Smith University President Clay Armbrister; Cleveland Community College President Jason Hurst; and Catawba College President Brien Lewis. 

Mahony and his fellow panelists will offer insight on their institutions’ roles in shaping a workforce for today and tomorrow. 

“I look forward to networking with my fellow leaders in higher education and hearing about their successes as well as sharing ours,” Mahony said. 

Mahony will highlight the university’s current efforts in developing new coursework and programs related to sales, as well as the university’s new Bachelor of Professional Studies program and the College of Business Administration’s Accounting Mentorship and Professional Development program which is a partnership with PricewaterhouseCoopers
