Scholar Benefits

WISE Scholars are supported throughout the preparation and induction years of STEM education careers. The programs offers scholarships, professional development, and mentoring while Scholars are actively enrolled in the program and then support alumni through a variety of professional development programs and opportunities. Further, all Scholars (past and present) enjoy a network of alumni that although concentrated in the South east, stretch nationwide.

Scholarship Benefits for Candidates seeking Undergraduate Certification

  • Four semesters funding totaling $20,000
  • Access to memberships in professional organizations for three years
  • Supplemental mentoring during the Internship II experience and induction year teaching.
  • Professional development and networking events.

Scholarship Benefits for Candidates seeking Certification through MAT-Accelerated

  • Four semesters funding totaling $20,000 (final semester of undergraduate program and three semesters of graduate program)
  • Access to memberships in professional organizations for three years
  • Supplemental mentoring during the Internship II experience and induction year teaching.
  • Professional development and networking events.

Scholarship Benefits for Candidates seeking Certification through MAT-Traditional

  • Two or three semesters funding totaling $10,000 to $15,000 
  • Access to memberships in professional organizations for three years
  • Supplemental mentoring during the Internship II experience and induction year teaching.
  • Professional development and networking events.

The WISE program is currently seeking a new round of funding and was last funded by the NSF 15-530, Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program under award #1540690
