Snap The Nest CollageThis Student Photo Competition is designed to showcase Winthrop University through YOU --authentic student perspectives! By encouraging students to submit their own images, we will:

  • Build a library of diverse, high-quality photos for use in marketing and communications.
  • Increase student engagement and pride in the Winthrop community.
  • Identify and elevate student talent, creating pathways to future opportunities.

Submit your photos!  Please include your name, Winthrop ID, phone, and email address along with your attached photo submissions (.jpg or .png) and photo release form (pdf).

 

Competition Info

    The competition will be held multiple times throughout the academic year, aligned with key campus moments:

    • Welcome Week and Move-In
    • Athletics season highlights
    • Fall and spring campus scenery
    • Study abroad experiences
    • Finals week and study sessions
    • Graduation

    Each cycle will run for approximately three to four weeks, with winners selected at the conclusion of each round.

    • Students will submit their photos to a designated Winthrop email address.
    • A required release form will accompany all submissions, granting Winthrop the right to use the images in university marketing. Students will be credited when their images are used, when available.
    • File format: JPEG or PNG
    • Minimum resolution: 3000 pixels on the longest side (suitable for print use)
    • Orientation: portrait and landscape accepted
    • Editing: basic color correction permitted; no heavy filters, distortions, or AI-generated content

    Submissions limited to five photos per student per cycle.

    • Monthly winners will receive prizes such as AirPods, bookstore credit, or Winthrop merchandise.
    • An annual “Grand Prize Winner” will be selected from among the monthly winners
    • Round One: University Marketing staff review submissions for quality and relevance.
    • Round Two: A panel consisting of marketing staff and select student representatives identifies finalists.
    • Round Three (optional): An online student body poll may be held to drive engagement and select the final winner.
