ABOUT THE PROGRAM

student work

The Academy of Music strives to provide quality musical instruction to the communities surrounding York County, South Carolina, and to serve as a professional training lab to foster a lifelong appreciation of music.

    OUR music FACULTY

We offer traditional, private weekly lessons to pre-college students. Lessons are taught by our talented team of instructors made up of University faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate music majors studying at Winthrop. All University faculty and graduate students hold degrees in their instrument, and have previous teaching experience. Our undergraduate student instructors are majors in the field in which they teach. These students are carefully selected by their professors to teach in the Academy program, and are supervised by the administration and faculty.
