Gabrielle Tull received an M.F.A. from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro, and a master's in education degree in Divergent Learning as well as a B.A. in Dance Education from Columbia College. Tull has performed with professional companies including The Power Company, Argentine Tango Troupe, Terrance Henderson Inc., and faculty works including BJ Sullivan, and Janet Lilly. She has years of experience as a high school dance instructor and company director at Irmo Performing Arts High School and International Baccalaureate Magnet, where she curated the original dance curriculum. Her recent scholarship in the field has led to being the recipient of the 2018 Sue Stinson Award, 2018-2019 Christina Larson and Melanie Feinstein Scholarships, and 2019-2020 Melanie Feinstein, and the UNCG College of Visual and Performing Arts Diversity and Equity Grant. Her current academic research entitled “Black Female Bodies: Studying Modern Representation in Contemporary Dance” was selected as a lead presentation for the 2019 National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) national conference.
