Dr. Kalie B. Scanlan holds a Ph.D. in Communication Studies, Theatre and Performance Studies from Southern Illinois University, as well as graduate and undergraduate training in theatre arts administration and management. Her work bridges arts management, teaching and learning, and community-engaged practice, with particular scholarly interest in inclusive pedagogy, multimodal learning and assessment, and arts-based civic and social impact. Prior to joining Winthrop, she led large-scale professional learning and curriculum development in regional nonprofit theatre. In her new role at Winthrop, she teaches courses in arts administration and leads program direction.
