I have worked since 2007 as a board certified music therapist at Prisma Health in Columbia, specializing in medical and psychiatric music therapy. Over the years I have used music as a tool to meet the needs of adults with acute mental health needs, preterm babies and their families in the NICU, individuals with Parkinson’s disease, and patients with various medical needs in a general hospital setting. Building on my Winthrop foundation and a Master's from East Carolina, I'm now pursuing a PhD at Temple University, focusing my research on music's role in the hospital setting with survivors of traumatic injury.
