PRODUCTIONS

The
department production season typically consists of three
faculty-directed plays and one faculty-choreographed dance
concert in Johnson Theatre, three or four student
works
in the Studio Theatre, the student-directed Winthrop One-Act
Play Festival each semester, and the student-choreographed
Winthrop Choreography Showcase and Senior
Dance Showcase.

Ellie and her
father, Max, have a very close relationship. When Max marries
Lucille, everything changes. Her imaginary friends help Ellie deal
with the loss of her mother and the strain on the close relationship

Love is a human experience not
confined to a particular time period or culture, yet its definition
remains
something of an enigma. Two student choreographers explore some of
love’s many configurations and accompanying emotions. Love Moves
will intrigue audiences with movement that expresses the joys,
struggles and complexities of human relationships.

Three Victorian ladies of adventure set
out on a whimsical journey that will take them to darkest Africa,
highest Himalaya and finally Terra Incognita. Our hardy
“sister sojourners” thwack their way through the bush, palaver with
the natives and enjoy the native chop all the while discovering
their yearnings as they travel through time, space, geography, and
history. On the Verge is a magical mystery tour of heart,
mind and soul.
