Winthrop Track - 2005
A centerpiece of Winthrop's new $2.8 million track and soccer complex, the outdoor track is named for Charlotte N.C., businessman and philanthropist Irwin “Ike” Belk. Built by Farley Construction Company, the track is an NCAA Division I competition facility with a top-quality Mondo rubberized surface. It encircles a full-sized practice field for soccer, as well as areas for field events, such as discus and pole vault. The track is located on Winthrop Garnet Drive near the golf course.
