Hot Topics

Each year at the Model United Nations Conference, we ask for faculty and staff to volunteer to come discuss “Hot Topics” with the High School Advisors.  Each session is an hour long and each session topic is different.  Last years topics included
"Climate Change", "The Media and War: From Vietnam to Irag", and "A Sustainable World: Is It Possible".

Thursday, April 3, 2008: 

  • 9-10 AM, "Where's Putin Heading?", Dr. Dave Pretty, Assistant Professor of History

  • 10:30-11:30 AM, “Women’s Activism and Feminist Agency in Mozambique and Nicaragua”, Dr. Jennifer Leigh Disney, Associate Professor of Political Science

Friday, April 4, 2008: 

  •  9-10 AM, "African Art Today", Dr. Alice Burmeister, Associate Dean & Associate Professor College of Visual and Performing Arts

  • 10-11 AM, "Post Election Recovery in Post War Liberia - Progress & Challenges", Dr. Frank Ardaiolo, Vice President for Student Life
