Want to Tutor?

The Writing Center is looking for students who are:

Willing to listen
Problem solvers
Interested in helping others
Willing to learn

If you are interested in becoming a tutor, talk to your advisor about signing up for WRIT 500.  WRIT 500 is offered each fall and teaches future tutors how to tutor students on improving their writing.  In the class, students will spend time in the Writing Center observing, interning, and, finally, tutoring.  Students who pass the class and qualify to work in the Writing Center can start working in the Center in the following spring.  Working in the Writing Center is a great opportunity, as well as a good experience to put on a resume.  Plus, undergraduate tutors get paid $7/hour.  Sign up for WRIT 500 as early in your college career as possible so that you can have many years working in the Writing Center.
