RESOLUTION TO HONOR ROSS A. WEBB FOR
MERITORIOUS SERVICE TO WINTHROP UNIVERSITY
WHEREAS, Winthrop University with grateful
appreciation, does hereby acknowledge, commend and honor the
distinguished service to the University by Professor Emeritus
Ross A. Webb in many capacities including faculty member,
department chair, and Vice President for Academic Affairs; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Webb’s diligent scholarship as
University Historian has led to the publication of The Torch
Is Passed, an outstanding document that will serve not only
as the Official History of the institution from its founding to
1989 but as a lasting tribute to those who envisioned and
created Winthrop; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Webb has worked tirelessly to
contribute to and accurately reflect the University community in
ways that will pay dividends for generations of Winthrop
students, faculty, staff and visitors;
THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Board of
Trustees of Winthrop University does hereby gratefully
acknowledge the dedication and commitment to Winthrop University
exemplified by Dr. Ross A. Webb.
