Welcome To Service Learning!

Service learning is an opportunity for students to participate in organized community service that addresses local needs while developing their academic skills, sense of civic responsibility, and commitment to the community.  Through service learning, students develop a deep understanding of course material, gain hands-on experience, and explore personal interests, values and beliefs.  Students engage in their class, community, and career!

Winthrop University’s Service Learning program offers diverse opportunities for students to get involved in service learning, as well as assists faculty members with integrating service learning projects into their academic courses.
