TIME MANAGEMENT

One of the best metaphors for a student's life is that of a circus performer who balances many plates in the air at once. The plates twirl precariously atop poles as the harried individual works frantically to keep them going ... never letting one fall. To perform the trick, one needs patience, perseverance, practice, and planning.

Oddly enough, these are exactly the characteristics that make a successful student. Much like a circus performer, a student must balance the plates of academic rigor, a social life, and perhaps work responsibilities successfully. While these conditions can be daunting, a student does have some control - they can use time and structure it to their advantage - which is what time management is all about.
