Music
Library Addition
As an institution known for leadership in the visual and performing
arts, Winthrop regularly hosts regional audiences for both Winthrop and
visiting performers in Byrnes Auditorium and the Conservatory of Music,
which also house academic spaces for the Department of Music.
Winthrop plans to take this complex to the next level with the creation
of a dedicated Music Library addition that will host music reference
collections, listening booth spaces and informal gathering spaces for
musicians. The Music Library will face onto Winthrop
Memorial Circle, across from
the planned College of Business Auditorium, allowing for the creation of
an attractive connecting landscaped plaza facing the intersection of
Winthrop Memorial Circle and Ebenezer Avenue across from the Sims Building.
