MISSION
STATEMENT
The mission of the Office of Nationally Competitive Awards (ONCA) is to
gather and disseminate information about nationally competitive
awards for undergraduate study, graduate study, and unique
international opportunities for students and faculty. ONCA consists
of a Director and an Advisory Committee. The ONCA Director is in
charge of designing, coordinating, and implementing the mission of
ONCA. The Advisory Committee consists of representatives from every
college in our campus community and student affairs, each of whom
have experience and expertise with nationally competitive awards.
The ONCA Advisory Committee will serve as the Endorsing Body of the
university, and will assist students in preparing the best
portfolios possible. In addition, ONCA Departmental Liaisons will be
identified in every department to assist in the identification,
recruitment, and recommendation of students from every discipline
across the campus community to the ONCA Director as a possible award
candidate. ONCA will also serve as a place to recognize and announce
recent award recipients among the faculty and student body.
