Long-term goals for the MS degree in human nutrition include the following:
- To maintain scholarly programs of study leading to the Master of Science degree
in human nutrition;
- To expand
faculty and graduate student collaboration on planning and
implementation of research projects;
- To provide
practice experiences in food systems management which meet
eligibility and membership requirements for registration with
the American Dietetic Association;
- To provide
integration of dietetics theory and practice in health care
setting for development of competent, ethical entry-level
practitioners;
- To encourage
students to assume responsibility for continuous
self-development and professional growth;
- To promote
development of entry-level practitioners capable of using,
interpreting, evaluating, and generating research to enhance
dietetics practice;
- To develop
entry-level competence in communication of knowledge of food and
human nutrition;
- To develop
knowledge and skills related to resource management in practice
environments.
