Long-term goals for the MS degree in human nutrition include the following:

  1. To maintain scholarly programs of study leading to the Master of Science degree in human nutrition;
  2. To expand faculty and graduate student collaboration on planning and implementation of research projects;
  3. To provide practice experiences in food systems management which meet eligibility and membership requirements for registration with the American Dietetic Association;
  4. To provide integration of dietetics theory and practice in health care setting for development of competent, ethical entry-level practitioners;
  5. To encourage students to assume responsibility for continuous self-development and professional growth;
  6. To promote development of entry-level practitioners capable of using, interpreting, evaluating, and generating research to enhance dietetics practice;
  7. To develop entry-level competence in communication of knowledge of food and human nutrition;
  8. To develop knowledge and skills related to resource management in practice environments.
