J.L. McDaniel-Milliken holds a Masters Degree in Library and Information Sciences from the University of South Carolina and is pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts in vocal performance at USC. She holds Masters and Bachelors Degrees in vocal performance from Winthrop University. She is the Assistant Director of the opera program at Winthrop and she teaches Opera Literature. She is the Music Library Director and an Instructor of music at Winthrop. Ms. McDaniel-Milliken performed the title roles in productions of Suor Angelica and Dido and Aeneas. Ms. McDaniel-Milliken was Co-director of Winthrops production of the opera, Dido and Aeneas. She was the Director of the Winthrop music department production of Red, White, and New: American one act operas, and was the Assistant Director of Gilbert and Sullivans, The Gondoliers. She has been the Soprano soloist in performances of Handels Messiah, Vivaldis Gloria, Saint-Saens Christmas Oratorio, Brittens A Ceremony of Carols, Schuberts Mass in G, Faures Requiem, and many other sacred works. She has performed in numerous recitals, choral concerts, festivals, and musicals throughout York, Richland, and Mecklenburg Counties.
