Housing
On-campus
housing is available.
All first and second year undergraduate students at Winthrop
University are expected to live in on-campus
residence halls unless they have family near the
University. Almost 2,200
students live on Winthrop’s campus which makes it
the best way to meet people and be active in the
campus community. The campus is small and safe,
and
everything you need is within easy walking
distance. There are a variety of residence halls,
all with access to cafeterias and with free laundry

Area Information
Winthrop University is
located in Rock Hill, which has a population
of 60,000. There are grocery stores, banks,
restaurants, and a post office all within 5 minutes

The Charlotte, North
Carolina metropolitan area, within a 30 minute
drive from Rock Hill, is an international city of
over 1 million and the second most important
financial center in the USA, following only New
York. Charlotte is convenient and a great source
for entertainment, culture, shopping, sports and

The Charlotte
Douglas International Airport
is the closest airport to Rock Hill
(about 35 km). Direct flights from Europe,
Latin America and
Canada are available. We will make arrangements
to meet you at the airport based on the arrival
information you provide us and bring you to campus,
free of charge.

The Admissions
Process & Requirements
are

Complete and mail the application with requested documents to the
International Center.
There is no fixed application deadline, but we
recommend that applications arrive by July 1 for
August admission and by November 15 for January
admission. To apply, you must have English language
