Winthrop University Quick Facts

Winthrop est une université académique publique d’une très grande distinction qui  a été fondée en 1886. C’est un milieu sien  et sauf avec une beauté extraordinaire qui se situe à Rock Hill en Caroline du Sud aux Etats Unis d’Amérique.  L’université est une des places historiques des USA et a été nommé dans le  Registre National des places historique. Winthrop fait parti des meilleures universités du pays grâce à sa nomination bien méritée au calibre Académiques  National.  L’université  est  100% reconnu  nationalement dans  tous ses programmes académiques. Winthrop a environ 6.500 étudiants dont 80% poursuivent leurs diplômes de bachelier et 20% poursuivent leur diplôme  master. Ses étudiants  viennent des 46 états des USA  avec plus de 165 étudiants internationaux venant de  50 différents pays. Les étudiants ici adorent  le milieu académiques qui les offre 273 personnel permanent  avec des classes de 23 étudiants en moyenne.  L’université  Winthrop a été nommée parmi les dix premiers universités publiques régionales  de l’US News & World Report dans le sud des Etats Unis dans l’édition de 2007 du magazine «  America’s Best Colleges ». Housing

On-campus housing is available.   All first and second year undergraduate students at Winthrop University are expected to live in on-campus residence halls unless they have family near the University.   Almost 2,200 students live on Winthrop’s campus which makes it the best way to meet people and be active in the campus community.   The campus is small and safe, and everything you need is within easy walking distance.  There are a variety of residence halls, all with access to cafeterias and with free laundry facilities.  Click here for more detail on housing and dining.

Area Information

Winthrop University is located in Rock Hill, which has a population of 60,000. There are grocery stores, banks, restaurants, and a post office all within 5 minutes of campus.  For more information on Rock Hill click here.  

The Charlotte, North Carolina metropolitan area, within a 30 minute drive from Rock Hill, is an international city of over 1 million and the second most important financial center in the USA, following only New York.   Charlotte is convenient and a great source for entertainment, culture, shopping, sports and anything you could want.  Click here for more information about Charlotte attractions.

The Charlotte Douglas International Airport is the closest airport to Rock Hill (about 35 km).  Direct flights from Europe, Latin America and Canada are available.  We will make arrangements to meet you at the airport based on the arrival information you provide us and bring you to campus, free of charge.

Application and Admissions

The Admissions Process & Requirements are easy.  Please click here to download and print our application.  Complete and mail the application with requested documents to the International Center.  There is no fixed application deadline, but we recommend that applications arrive by July 1 for August admission and by November 15 for January admission. To apply, you must have English language proficiency.  Click here for more information about the admissions process.
