Required Immunizations for
Winthrop students
Winthrop University requires all students born on or after January 1, 1957 to
provide proof of immunity to German measles (Rubella) and measles (Rubeola). Two
valid measles or MMR immunizations, or blood titers showing immunity are
required. If you cannot verify your immunizations you will need to be
re-immunized. All students must have a screening for Tuberculosis within a year
of starting classes and a Tetanus within the last ten years.
Age, medical, and religious
exemptions are allowed by law. All required immunizations are
available at Health Services for a minimal fee.
Recommended Immunizations for
Winthrop Students
Hepatitis B,
Meningitis and
Influenza are highly recommended
but not required for admission.
