The 2008 Undegraduate
Scholars' Book of Abstracts is an opportunity
for students who have presented or published work in
the 2007-2008 school year to have their abstracts
published in an official Winthrop publication.
Submissions are now being accepted; the deadline is
March 26th.

2008 Undergraduate Scholars Reception at
Winthrop University:
The Sixth Annual College
of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Scholars Awards Ceremony and
Reception will be held on April 26,
2008 in McBryde Hall. Students
who engaged in undergraduate scholarship and/or
presented their scholarship in the 2007-2008 school
year
will be honored.

Undergraduate Summer Research
Experience Fellowships:
Interested in paid summer undergraduate
research experience at Winthrop? Apply by
March 19 for eight weeks of summer research
experience at Winthrop.

The
Janice Chastain Houk Award for Undergraduate
Research was created in 2007 by her husband and
sons to honor her life and memory. Two rewards
will be presented annually, one to a Biology student
and one to a Political Science student. Click

Current Highlights in Undergraduate Research
The English
Department at Winthrop is sponsoring the 3rd
annual graduate and undergraduate conference on
Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008. Papers on any topics
related to British, world, and American literature,
as well as essays on linguistics, literary and
rhetorical theory, or writing pedagogy will be
considered. The deadline for submission is
Wednesday, February 6, 2008. Click

The 2007 Summer Undergraduate
Research Experience (SURE)
was an opportunity for students
in the biology and chemistry departments to dedicate
a summer to research in their disciplines,
supervised and assisted by Winthrop faculty.
