Fee Payment Deadline
Fall 2008
The fee payment deadline for the Fall 2008 semester is 5:00pm,
Tuesday, August 12,2008.
Even if your balance is $0, because of scholarships or other forms of
financial assistance, your registration is not complete until you request
schedule validation. Validation is the last and final step in the
registration process. Before the fee payment deadline, you must go to
our validation page and complete the required information.
PLEASE NOTE: Request schedule validation ONLY when your
balance is $0. If you owe a balance, please do not use this
feature. Your schedule will be validated by the Cashiers Office when
you make your payment.
By validating your schedule, you are telling us that you are returning to
Winthrop and wish to keep this schedule. This allows us to know how
many students we will have which then tells us class sizes and how many
faculty we need for each curriculum and how much classroom space will be
needed. It also allows University advisors and other students to know
which classes are available to new or transferring students.
Failure to secure validation will result in your class schedule being
dropped. Without validation, we must assume you are not returning or
do not wish to keep this same schedule. Therefore, we will drop the
schedule to open the class space to other students.
For the past several years, we have attempted to telephone those students
who had registered for Fall or Spring classes and were not validated to
inform them they were in danger of losing their class schedule. We will no longer attempt to contact
students who are not validated via telephone. Instead we will use the
students' Winthrop University e-mail address to notify students they may
lose their class schedule. To ensure you receive timely notices from
our office, it is imperative that you establish a Winthrop University e-mail
account and monitor it regularly. Students not validated will receive
notices in increments of seven days, three days and one day prior to
cancellation.
