  • Campus Police promotes and preserves a safe and secure campus environment by delivering quality police and community safety service in a professional and sensitive manner. Campus Police can be reached by phone at 803/323-3333.
  • Dean of Students Office - The Department of Student Affairs and the Dean of Students Office, both integral components of the Division of Student Life, provide opportunities for individual growth and are dedicated to the development of an inclusive community. The Dean of Students Office can be reached by phone at 803/323-4503.
  • Health & Counseling Services - Health & Counseling Services believes in the dignity, integrity, growth, potential, and innate worth of the individual and offers services to foster whole-person health through prevention, education, assessment, treatment, and advocacy. Health and Counseling Services may be reached by phone at 803/323-2206.
  • Residence Life - The Department of Residence Life is dedicated to supporting and encouraging the personal development and academic success of each student in the residential community through purposeful programs and services. Residence Life can be reached by phone at 803/323-2223.
  • Student Conduct - Dean of Students Office oversees the judicial system and is responsible for holding students and student groups accountable to the rules and regulations of Winthrop University as defined in the Student Conduct Code. The Office of Student Conduct can be reached by phone at 803/323-4503.
  • Student Handbook (pdf - 1.54 MB) - On page 37 of the student handbook, you will find the student conduct code. It explains the following: Right and Responsibilities of Students, Authority and Responsibility, Application of Laws On and Off Campus, Prohibited Conduct, Student Academic Misconduct, Disciplinary Process, Hearing Decisions, Disciplinary Sanctions, Appeals, Summary Action, Disciplinary Files-Rention and Access, and Judicial Council.
  • WU Watch is a free safety app available for Android smart phones and iPhones that has numerous features built in. Students can report crimes and emergencies with a few simple clicks. Users of the app can submit GPS embedded crime tips that include text, photo, video, and audio of crimes and emergencies to Winthrop University Campus Police. Users can also "check-in" with the app, letting family and friends know that they have reached their destination safely. There is also a variety of safety features found in the "Safety Box" of the app to help keep users safe, such as a flashlight, an emergency map, a law enforcement resource page, and an Alert notification section.
