Undergraduate Research

Present Research Opportunities

BigSURS 2013

Big South Undergraduate Research Symposium (BigSURS)

The English Department at Winthrop

The English department sponsored the 8th Annual Undergraduate/Graduate Research Conference on March 1-2, 2013.  Papers on topics related to British, world, and American literature; essays on linguistics, literary and rhetorical theory, and writing pedagogy; and creative fiction and nonfiction pieces were presented.

The National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR)

The conference was held April 11-13, 2013 at the University of Wisconsin. NCUR brings together undergraduates involved in scholarly and artistic activities representing a range of disciplines including creative arts, mathematics, business, social science, humanities, physical and life sciences, natural resources, and engineering, among others. Participants came from more than 300 colleges and universities representing almost every state in the nation.

Posters on the Hill

The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) recently hosted its 17th annual undergraduate poster session on Capitol Hill. This event helps members of Congress understand the importance of undergraduate research by talking directly with the students whom these programs impact.
