Facilities & Operations

Mission

The mission of Facilities Management is to plan, coordinate and execute a regular program of preventative maintenance and repair of all University owned buildings, major mechanical/utility equipment and the University grounds. In addition, to become more sustainable, Facilities has created and implemented a comprehensive plan that identifies waste reduction measures as well as increase energy and water efficiency. Most indoor lighting on campus has been upgraded to high efficiency lamps while heating and cooling needs are met by utilizing the most energy efficient systems and practices available. Ongoing research identifies new technologies and measures that further decrease energy and water consumption campus wide. Also within Facilities Management, Environmental Health & Safety serves the University community by providing technical support, information and training, consultation, and periodic audits of environmental, health and safety practices and regulatory compliance.
