Michelle Wolf acquired her B.S. in Biology at Florida Southern; she minored in Secondary Education. Noticing her true calling, Mrs. Wolf got her Master of Education in Student Personnel/Higher Education Administration from the University of South Carolina. She has worked in higher education for over 18 years. Some of the schools Mrs. Wolf has worked at, other than Winthrop University, include the University of Virginia, Brevard College, and the University of South Carolina. She is passionate about working with students who want to be “the best student that he/she can be.” Mrs. Wolf enjoys developing freshmen and sophomores into student leaders. She is the mother of two beautiful children and two canines. Her favorite band is, without question, The Steel Wheels (www.thesteelwheels.com). Mrs. Wolf is a log cabin enthusiast and enjoys spending time outdoors in the Northeast Georgia Mountains. Developing the Academic Success Center from scratch is something that she is proud of because she believes in devoting her time to helping students succeed academically.

Alex Mahon graduated ‘cum honore’ from Columbia College with a B.A. in both Political Science and Public Affairs. She recently graduated with a Master of Education in Divergent Learning from Columbia College in May of 2012. Coming to the Academic Success Center as a Graduate Assistant in 2010, she quickly climbed the ladder to become an Assistant Director. She is most proud of successfully developing the tutor program offered by Winthrop’s Academic Success Center. She is passionate about helping students realize their true potential and helping students understand that, “with a little hard work, anything can be accomplished.” Ms. Mahon’s hobbies include shopping, reading, and cooking. Her favorite movie is Wedding Crashers and her favorite band is The Head and The Heart, but you can also hear Michael Buble’, Jack Johnson, Dave Barnes, as well as many others when you walk into her office. Ms. Mahon is excited to be part of the Academic Success Center team to help students find their true academic potential.
