Purpose of Organization: The purpose of the PEM club is to provide professional development and networking opportunities to students enrolled in the PETE program. The focus is on developing professional friendships and relationships that will last a lifetime.

Description of Organization: The Winthrop University Physical Education Majors Club (PEM) is open to all students enrolled in the B.S. in Physical education and Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)-Physical Education Teacher Certification degree programs. The PEM Club participates in intramural sports throughout the year and also sponsors a number of fitness-based fundraising (e.g., Parents Night Out) and social activities. The PEM Club also participates in the SuperStars Physical Education competition during the South Carolina Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance (SCAHPERD) Conference in Myrtle Beach, SC. The PEM Club is a professional organization that allows students to flourish as professionals in the discipline by networking with other students on campus and across the states.

Planned Projects/Events:  Participation in Intramural sports, Parent's Night Our Events (physical education childcare), Olde English Consortium Physical Education Conference, Rock Hill Striders Great Pumpkin Run 5K, attendance of SCAHPERD Conference & participation in SuperStars, Spirit Nights.
